1914 American LaFrance

In detail…

Up for your consideration is this awesome American LaFrance motorcar. Made in Elmira New York over 100 years ago, this is a real throwback to a time long gone…

This is a very large and imposing machine. Some of the words that spring to mind regarding this vehicle are fabulous, magnificent and special. I have been entrusted with the honor of marketing the car for the current owner. The vehicle restoration and conversion from a fire truck began decades ago in the USA before it headed to Germany. The restoration continued in Germany by a Mr. Wolfgang Gower. Unfortunately he didn’t live long enough to complete the work.

It was then purchased by the current owner in 2001 and it came to the UK.

An educated eye will tell you that the restoration and conversion work has been completed to a very high standard. This restoration work has included a full engine rebuild, significant custom coachwork, full respray including wheels etc. Incidentally the wheels are made of Hickory wood and are in great shape. The tyres are Goodrich Silvertowns.

The vehicle now needs some use as has sadly hardly been used since the conversion was completed.

It currently resides in a Transport Museum in the North West. It will require light recommissioning which is included in the price. Delivery to you is also included once the recommissioning has been completed.

We are experts in these vehicles and can also offer ongoing maintenance and servicing for your piece of mind should you require this.

Whether you’re looking to just blow your mates out of the water at the village fete car show, compete in the Paris to Peking rally or quite simply have a special piece of engineering excellence in your collection this car is a worthy candidate.

To discuss this opportunity give me a call.

Please note I have another one of these for sale in an unrestored barn find condition (call me for info).
